For a long time, I have been drifting away from creating small paintings, and I am not entirely sure why. Maybe I thought my big, expressive brushstrokes didn’t suit the challenging realm of small-scale art. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to convey the same energy on a smaller scale.
Painting from ‘The Tree House’, as I now call my new studio, a lot of things have changed. Surrounded by the smell of bush and the song of birds had a restorative effect, not just on myself but on my practice, and this is how the idea of The Capsule Collection came about.

I wanted to simulate my experience at The Tree House through paintings that felt intimate and invited recentering and a return to self by honouring our connection between body and nature.
Born from a language of renewal, these visuals developed from the blend of these microscopic worlds. Each piece is a quiet companion, a gentle bridge between what we observe and what we feel. They’re meant to live with, to pause beside, to become part of your everyday slowly.

I chose the word Capsule deliberately. In medicine, a capsule holds what we take to feel better. Here, I like to think of these paintings as playful prescriptions, small restorative doses of colour and emotion. Something to take regularly, to return to.
Just as we might reach for a capsule when our body needs support, I believe we can turn to art in the same way, for comfort, grounding, and joy.

Although I will still be creating large-scale paintings, I will now offer ‘Capsule’ releases throughout next year, as a more intimate way to collect works that are deeply personal yet universal.
I am sure that you will enjoy these small doses of art!
