About Marisabel
Marisabel Gonzalez (b. 1973, Caracas, Venezuela) is a contemporary artist living and working in Sydney, Australia.
Her practice lies at the intersection of body, memory, and landscape, engaging with the concept of the palimpsest. In her abstract paintings and installations, she draws on her clinical background to explore connection, healing, and transformation through colour, gesture, and layered materials such as text, threads, and bandages.
