During my artist-in-residence, the vineyard revealed itself through surfaces: grape skins, soil, hands, heat, and the marks left by repetition. In this work, those surfaces become almost inseparable. The painting holds the threshold between body and land, where skin becomes a place of memory, and soil becomes a living archive.
Pigment extracted from on-site grape skins was embedded in the surface, allowing the vineyard to enter the work not only as inspiration but also as matter.
