Marisabel Gonzalez is a Latin-American contemporary artist who specialises in abstract painting, focusing on the emotional dimensions of human nature and the potential of colour as a means of communication. Her works feature expressive mark-making, and the incorporation of text and materials, which are heavily influenced by her background in medical imaging. She has presented notable solo exhibitions in Sydney, Australia, and Düsseldorf, Germany, and participated in group shows in various locations worldwide. Gonzalez has received multiple honours encompassing art residencies and art prizes, including most recently a selection as a finalist for the Paddington Art Prize (2021), Winner of the Collabor8 Women Art Prize (2023), finalist of the Northern Beaches Environmental Art Prize (2024), and Semi-finalist of the Lucca Biennale Cartasia, Italy (2024). Her works are featured in public and private collections across the globe.
