Silly Season Greetings

Huge thank you for sticking by through a very tough year!

Whether you just subscribed to my newsletter or have been a loyal collector; I wouldn’t have been able to make it without your support.

This year brought a lot of challenges and insights but most of all gratitude for the opportunities that had come my way and the people that I have been able to share this artistic endeavour with. It also brought a puppy: Boni, the little rascal!

Wishing you and your family all the best for the holidays. Stay safe and may 2021 come loaded with good stuff for all!

Until then,

Boni Lamberti-03.jpg

PS: I think Boni’s photo is a very accurate representation of how we all feel this year!

Welcome to my first ever blog (In Spanglish!)

It’s never too late to start doing things in life right? So to celebrate my birthday I decided to jump in with a few things I have never done before; like writing a little blog.

I’ll keep it short and sweet so you can’t notice my grammar mishaps, particularly after a full-on week at work when my brain starts switching into Spanish mode.

I have been giving it a lot of thought lately at what it means to me to be successful as an artist. I realize that this varies as my goals will change over time, but there are some milestones that will never change. Following my recent solo exhibition, Inward, I had received many constructive and positive feedback about the nature of my art practice. These had given me wings to keep exploring the relationship between art and medicine and to present my clinical journey to the audience with a positive approach towards healthcare, life, and their bodies. How lucky am I to be able to combine these two passions of mine?

During the exhibition period, I had the honour to be interviewed by Emma Kate Wilson for her project ‘Documenting Art in the time of Corona’ which is sponsored by the Northern Beaches Council. I am pretty stocked as my interview will be published shortly. In the meantime, check Emma’s project!

I am also very excited to announce that I am now part of the stable of artists at Sarah Birtles Art Consultancy. Sarah had been working in the commercial and public sector for over a decade, closing the gap between artists and collectors. She has worked with the Museum of Contemporary Art, Penrith Regional Gallery, Art Gallery of NSW, and Ovolo Hotels and regularly consults with private collectors. Check this out!

And last but not least, I want to acknowledge Anna Curnuck, Gallery Manager at Laurel Street Gallery, from whom I had received the most outstanding support. Anna and Wayne dived into this venture in the midst of the pandemic and trusted my performance as an artist which had only been rewarded through the last few months. Thank you!

All these amazing things happening only left me with a desire to celebrate. In Spanish, when we want to celebrate big time, we say “Voy a tirar la casa por la ventana” which translates “I am going to throw the house out the window”. I know this doesn’t make any sense so I am going to celebrate by adding a 30% store-wide discount over my birthday weekend. October 24th and 25th (my birthday is actually the 26th but Mondays are not fun!)

And for your support,

Gracias totales!
